Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I grew up in the Midwest in Indiana with a wonderful mother and father. My mother was so inspiring and always encouraged me that I could do anything I put my mind to—she was a wonderful role model! I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University and have been involved in many forms of artistic work since then. I married my college sweetheart, and I’ve been happily married for 42 years! I have three beautiful children and five amazing grandbabies who I absolutely adore!

We moved to Florida in 2003, where I worked professionally in faux finishing for over ten years, working with Venetian plasterers, dimensional stenciling, and ceiling work. I also worked on hobby projects like painting and refinishing furniture. I was so happy when I finally discovered resin, as it’s so versatile and fun to work with!

What inspired your journey as an artist?

Being an artist is part of my soul! I have been intrigued by art and design since I was a child. My father was a well-known architect and designer in Chicago who created many well-known company logos and built many beautiful homes. I was always around design and used to create art with all his art supplies. Because of that, I have always been fascinated with three-dimensional and textured art.

When I started making art with resin, I absolutely loved the glass-like mirror finish this medium produces! It allows me to create unique pieces of art filled with positive energy and passion! My heart and soul are poured into each piece of art that I make.

Making someone happy through my art gives me more joy than I can express!

How long have you been working with resin?

I have been working with resin since 2018. I love this medium and its potential. What I enjoy most is creating beautiful three-dimensional resin art and functional pieces by incorporating crystals and other embellishments to bring my creations to life.

What made you choose MEYSPRING pigments?

I first discovered Meyspring pigments several years ago when an artist friend of mine invited me to try the newly released MEYSPRING's Geode Art Collection. Each resin pigment was even more beautiful than the next!! Their quality and depth of color are incredible, and I love that you can mix different colors to create your own shade!

What is your favorite color scheme?

My favorite go-to is Dazzling Diamond paired with white pigment paste and gold accents. I also love the Turquoise Blue and Tropical Blue for ocean scenes.

What are your goals as an artist?

That is a great question! My journey keeps evolving. I leave my spirit and my mind open to new ideas and inspiration from places that I travel! My goal is to make others happy through my art; I hope they can feel the energy and positive vibrations that are part of each piece that I create!

How much time do you dedicate to your craft?

I feel fortunate to work with my resin almost daily. I also love having a small studio in my home. It’s my little space where I can be with myself, my thoughts, and my artwork, letting my soul flow freely through my mind and create!

Do you have any advice for aspiring artists?

  1. Let your creative energy flow, don’t be afraid to try new things, and don’t be hard on yourself if things don’t turn out how you thought!
  2. Always wear your protective gear when working with resin and pigments.
  3. Before I begin a project, I always lay out all my materials to stay organized.
  4. Always make sure that your surface is level before you start your project!
  5. Pour leftover resin into a small mold, and after it cures, write the name of the color pigment on the backside.
